Great sport, but a dagger for many HS track programs along with flag football for XC! The balls also hurt when they hit you in the head. 😉 Look forward to seeing it in the Olympics.

Had no idea where the name came from. Need Maryland to make it the official state sport again. Nice work Josh.

I doubt that will happen with the powerful jousting lobby :)

So much to love... five minutes for manslaughter... the helmet-less Canadians... game getting called 15 minutes early so the Canadians could catch their boat heading north.... and my favorite "Modified Murder"!

The game can be pretty brutal on the men's side—and the women's game too, especially considering it's officially a 'non-contact' sport.

The format is interesting and a major departure from the women's game not that long ago, when it was played on open fields without lines or boundaries—emphasizing free movement and flow over fixed positioning. The game has changed a great deal, even since I was coaching high school 20+ years ago.

Thanks Al. It was an interesting subject to learn more about and will certainly have me tuning in to catch the Sixes come LA28.
